Claude Code (terminal)

No plan requirement beyond having Claude Code working — the cheapest real path onto Croft's free tier, and where to send anyone bouncing off the Claude app's plan requirement above.

Back

Needs Claude Code installed and working — any API key or Claude subscription is enough.

The steps

  1. 1

Add the server from a shell.

  2. 2

Inside a session, run /mcp to complete the OAuth round trip.

What happens next

/mcp opens a browser to Croft's consent screen; approve it and Claude Code holds the token from then on. No separate registration step exists — the shell command above is the whole setup.

Check it worked

One row per workspace you can open. Getting this back proves discovery, registration, the OAuth round trip and the token all worked in one move.

If it didn't

claude mcp add succeeds, but /mcp never opens a browser.

Claude Code is running headless or over SSH, with no browser to open.

Run /mcp from a session on a machine with a browser, or open the URL it prints yourself.

/mcp completes, but tool calls fail as unauthenticated.

The consent screen was approved for a different Claude account than the one the terminal session is signed into.

Check which account claude is signed into, sign in to the right one, and re-run /mcp .

A tool call returns "not found" for a workspace you know exists.

Croft is looking at a workspace this connection can't reach — /mcp was approved under a different Claude account than the one that workspace belongs to, or you've been removed from it since.

Check which account /mcp was approved under.
